That sound. What is it? Coming from over there. The wall, it speaks. I hear tearing through the silence that is my darkness. I know i am beleived insane, they call me ill and disturbed. I can hear their heart beating when they walk past, they suppose only silence but i hear it; like a thumping drum it’s naked sound like a hard breathing in the woods. Even some whisper their thoughts to me, saying only truth. Their minds i can hear shattering the walls like rocks through glass, But this sound, this is different. The sound clashes against my ears like the tide in storm, crashing into the walls of a mountain. Silence! I scream, it is unheard and falls upon the cool mist of the night air. A gleam of light flickers through my only window, It too is loud and bewildering. I skim to the corner, the darkest one in hopes of deflecting it’s erie wisp. Leave me! i chant the whisper i hear, but cannot move from this lonely room. I know that they will come for me soon, i hear their clattering footsteps, marching happily down the dark corridor. A door slams shut, ringing like a prison cell through the empty way. The echoes bounce until they reach my door swinging it open. I shimmy closer to the dark corner, chanting. I rock with the beat of their hearts, i know they are here. What is it they want? Tell me! my voice stammers coldly. Will you leave me this night? Give me peace, let the silence be my cry, let the walls rake the sound of my stammering lips and hold them shut while i wait. I curl as if a fetus in mothers womb, lying on the hard desolate floor. It is morning, i see the light as i open my eyes. The voices are gone. the day brings life anew. I know that it will wait here for me, it will wait in silence until the darkness comes again. It will wait and then, from the shadows, i hear the voices.
